Astragalus Root

Astragalus Root has been put to use for centuries as an immunity supporter but can it really be an effective weight loss ingredient?
As a staple in Chinese medicine, Astragalus Root has been used to treat diabetes, heal injuries, and even fight off the common cold. And that’s just the beginning. New uses for this ingredient are being discovered every day. According to some supplements, Astragalus Root has proven itself as a great ingredient to help you shed weight and fight fat. But is this true?
Weight Loss and Astragalus Root
Some research has indicated that Astragalus Root may be able to help raise metabolic activity. By increasing metabolic processes, the body can burn excess calories and help convert fat stores into energy at faster rates. Boosting metabolism is a common approach to weight loss, but not through Astragalus Root. Most use powerful stimulants. Astragalus Root may be a good alternative from stimulants since it doesn’t produce the same jittery side effects. However, there is no evidence that has proved that Astragalus Root is more powerful than stimulants when it comes to amplifying metabolism and burning fat.
Other Astragalus Root Applications
Astragalus Root may not be the most effective weight loss ingredients but it does serve other purposes. It has been shown to stimulate the immune system by activating more macrophages. This increased immunity has made Astragalus Root a popular way to treat symptoms common to the flu, the common cold, and even fibromyalgia.
Going beyond immunity, scientific evidence has confirmed that Astragalus Root is also an effective antioxidant. It can be used to limit the production of free radicals, harmful compounds that can actually cause severe cell damage to increase the odds of cancer and accelerate the process of aging. Some recent studies have showed Astragalus Root may also protect DNA against replications errors during cell division. These errors are often considered the most common cause of aging in the human body.
