Coconut Oil Diet Pills

The connection between weight loss and coconut oil is not concrete. For years there has been a lot of debate and discussion concerning the potential benefits and use of coconut oil for weight maintenance.

Often, people argue that coconut oil is an impossible agent for weight loss because it is high in saturated fat. Although true, the saturated fat in coconut oil is considered a medium-chain-triglyceride. MCTs are different than the average and unhealthy saturated fat. MCTs are actually rarely stored as fat. The body actually converts MCTs into energy. Even so, The Journal of Nutrition said that MCTs are “potential agents in the prevention of obesity.”

Coconut oil has also been linked to increasing thyroid function, which can help weight loss. Proper thyroid function increases the metabolism and helps balance blood glucose levels. Coconut oil also contains a few beneficial fatty acids such as lauric acid. Lauric acid helps reduce the risk of high cholesterol and high blood pressure.

Some studies have been conducted that suggest coconut oil helps increase fat burning and calorie expenditure. In fact, The International Journal of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders conducted two different studies that link coconut oil to diminished fat storage in both men and women.

Unfortunately, there are no conclusive studies that make coconut oil a guaranteed weight loss contributor. Several studies show coconut oil has positive effects on the metabolism and can induce satiety to signal that your body is full, but no study proves coconut oil or coconut oil diet pills are responsible for significant weight loss.

Of course substituting coconut oil for other oils in your diet will have its benefits. Taking coconut oil over soybean oil or safflower oil has positive effects on overall health.

Coconut oil diet pills rely on the chance MCTs are effective weight loss agents. Taking these types of diet pills do not have certain risks or side effects, but they also might not be strong enough to help with weight loss.
