What Is L-Carnitine?

L-carnitine has been on the market for a while. They have multiple claims about it and if we remember right, it was Jergens lotion who talked about it addressing cellulite a few years ago, although if not them, it was another bigger lotion company. This being said, they claim that l-carnitine will essentially speaking burn fat in that, because that’s what cellulite is, fat. Unfortunately, the only way outside of exercise that was actually proven to have this particular effect was coffee scrubs. So they stopped doing the commercials.
About L-Carnitine
So what is l-carnitine? L-carnitine is actually an amino acid. It feeds the muscles, and it has been known to have certain antioxidant benefits. However, in feeding the muscles, one should note that it does not actually help you to build muscles. Likewise, there is the fact that it does not actually burn fat. So obviously, the advertisements are mistaken as are a number of emerging products that are claiming stimulant free weight loss using this ingredient. No studies actually confirm this idea. It is just another amino acid.
The End Conclusion
This being said, we are not saying that l-carnitine has no weight loss benefits. On the contrary, as an amino acid, it has a number of benefits in general terms. However, those benefits do not include weight loss at this time. L-carnitine does not burn fat, and whether you take it in liquid, pill, or lotion form, it will not make that kind of difference at this particular time. You would just be wasting time and money.
