What Is Reductil?
Reductil claims that you can lose weight, and it has been marketed as a prescription otherwise known as sibutramine. They claim it works as an oral appetite suppressant created by Abbott Laboratories. It has been used as a controlled substance in the United States, and apparently, there is virtually no potential for abuse or addiction. It is classified as an anorectic agent, and it has been used being well absorbed by the GI tract. Some patients have found quite a bit of success with Reductil and they have found that it can work.
However, potential Reductil side effects include cardiovascular problems, heart attacks, strokes, dry mouth, increased appetite, nausea, strange taste in the mouth, upset stomach, constipation, trouble sleeping, dizziness, drowsiness, menstrual cramps/pain, headaches, flushing, joint or muscle pain, cardiac arrhythmias, paresthesia, mental/mood changes, thoughts of suicide, jaundice, melena, hematemesis, fever, rigors, chest pain, hemiplegia, abnormal vision, dyspnea, and edema.
So obviously enough, it is a controlled substance for a reason. It has many potetnailly dangerous side effects, and when it comes right down to it, Reductil was actually banned in the UK in January of 2010 because of the increased risk of heart attacks and strokes among other things. Of course, the European union is usually ahead of the United States in banning certain substances, which is a good thing for their constituents. And with this in mind along with the fact that it often causes an increase in appetite and sometimes just doesn’t work, we would not recommend using Reductil.
