What Is Sensoril?
Native to Ayurvedic medicine, Sensoril is actually an extract of the withania somnifera or Ashwagandha extract. It is patented and sold in the United States, mostly for its anti-stress properties. But recently, the site has started to push Sensoril as a cortisol blocking weight loss supplement.
We should know better by now. We should know that mood lifters like St. John’s wort don’t promote weight loss, sleep aids like valerian root don’t promote weight loss, and memory enhancers again DON’T promote weight loss! In other words, Sensoril has been helped up as a lot of things. But generally, all of the things that Sensoril is do not generally coincide with weight loss results.
But there’s another big warning sign.
There is no natural supplement proven to lower cortisol levels. And even if there were, lowering cortisol levels does not promote weight loss. Most people have cortisol levels within normal range, unless you have a rare genetic disorder. And if you do, the weight gain will be the least of your worries. But if you don’t, cortisol will have little to no impact on your weight loss or weight gain. This is not to say that Sensoril does not promote any benefits. It just doesn’t promote weight loss.
What Sensoril Does Provide
Clinical studies have shown that Sensoril can help you to achieve certain other benefits. For one thing, it can enhance mood, and it has been clinically proven to improve the effectiveness of certain treatments for bipolar disorder. Scientists specifically choose not to test on people with signs of mental deterioration such as dementia or Alzheimer’s.
If used correctly, it could reduce anxiety and improve mental stability in some patients, though most experts say that Sensoril is not meant to be used on its own if you have a serious mental disorder. If you just want to use it to enhance your mood and concentration and you do not have other issues, then that’s fine. But if you want to use any natural supplement successfully, including Sensoril, it’s important to be fully aware of what products do and don’t actually provide.
